I was driving home yesterday eve, its a 100 km drive (66 miles). Not that long according to American measurements, but here its almost through half of Belgium (lol). Anyway, when i had only 1/3 to do, i stopped for a hitch-hiker. She was standing by the side of the highway in the middle of nowhere (well, nowhere is a bit strongly expressed since we are a small country with a big population-rate) and it was storming!
Anyway she had to be in place X. I didnt go all the way to X, but i took her 10 miles further in the *right* direction. I asked her where she came from and if she was hitch-hiking since a long time. (just to make a conversation) She told me she was hitch-hiking from place A, and succeeded to go to place B (close to my work). There she could drive with someone to place C, which is close to her target X. But she didnt know that.
The next car at place C who stopped for her told her that she was completely in the wrong area or direction. LOL, and she believed him. So she hitch-hiked back to place B, and from there to place D (where i picked her up).
*It was like she wanted to go from England to the US and someone brought her to Canada, but from there she returned to Ireland and travelled to Brasil to go to the US from there.*
Its funny how people can easily fool others. (maybe it wasnt on purpose, i dunno)
Its like when we were a kid, and a driver stopped in our town and asked for this or that street, but we didnt know where it was. Some of us just directed the driver to 'a' place, not revealing that they didnt know the streetname. We used to fantasize about that: that those drivers would still be searching the next days in that area to find the right street. LOL
