Months and months ago I saw something on 48 hours or 60 minutes or 20/20... not sure which, I always get them confused. Anywhoo, we were studying Hindu caste systems in History, so I felt rather compelled to watch it, as it talked about the human tragedy of that system. The peoples went to India and they showed an interview with a woman who cleaned public toilets [not nearly as nice... and I do use the term loosely... as the ones we have over here] for a living. Everyone in her line had inherited the job. All she had was a kind of flat metal scraper to carry the waste to wherever it had to go. No gloves or anything. I don't think I could do that.
Even being a Pariah in general-- or up to a Shudra, for that matter. Too many restrictions. I'm not even shure I'd like being a Ks*itria [not allowed-- not sure if I spelled it right, anyways]. That was kinda off topic... but it wouldn't be the first time.
