it's a funny thing.....

i almost invariably find the answer to a question i just asked while waiting around for someone to answer it for me. however, i'm going to bed now, so a response would be much appreciated. I just got the "sticky situation" tip from the soothsayer. here's my inventory:

2 Tree Branches
Small Silver Coin
Float Ring
Bucket of Sap

Sack
Silver Key
Sap Tap
Iron Support

How do i get past the cyclops? where are people getting the blue ball and roc feather and other things i don't have? what do i need for the receptacle? i've helped the indian and the mermaid, but the clown confuses me. any hints on what to do next?
