FQ2...giraffe won't go and caverns entered both ways????

I've checked all recent postings regarding this darned giraffe, and I have tried all of "mandichaos'" hints (for which I'm grateful) and nothing is working. I have left the giraffe, gone away numerous times and come back. I have entered the cavern from the mountains and found a way to get in by the northeast. No matter what I do, I simply can't get the giraffe to buzz off, nor do I find anything in the cavern. I just keep bonking into walls.

SOS...please someone have pity on a poor soul...help me get past this point.

My inventory is as follows:

13 onions
2 tree branches
sack
small silver coin
silver key
Crown of Destiny
Float Ring
Sap Tap
Bucket of Sap
Bottle Opener
Cross
Coconut
Pliers
Iron Support
Red Potion
Green Potion
Sword
Rusty Key
Goo

Any help would be very much appreciated...wish I could offer a gold coin...alas, they have been spent!
