I'm not really surprised at their uprising, if the actions of one of my friends are anything to go by. Apparently, cows sleep standing up (I'm not too sure about this. Please enlighten me.) and so, of course, they are standing, but unaware of what is going on. This makes it possible to creep up to one at night and push it over. This friend about whom I am relating the story has supposedly done this before, and according to him the comedy value really gets going when the cow wakes up, on the ground, and (understandably) gets a mite angry. This is the point at which you RUN LIKE FURY.
Not sure if it's true (I may be breaking the record for "most synonyms of 'apparently' in one post") but I just love the mental image of a cow slowly toppling over. Yes, I'm amused by simple things.
