I've got the qualifying WAIS score for membership (from extensive psychological testing after a mild stroke), and I want to know if there is any point in joining Mensa -- other than pissing off my pre-med daughter who still thinks I'm a moron?

I looked at the local (Gulf Coast) chapter web site and the photos of their "fun" events. They don't look like much fun, although I'd probably fit in with the older, fat crowd.

But, before I spend the money and time, what did you find out about the "value" of Mensa membership outside that orgaiization? Do potential employers care? Or is it a plus or a negative in a job interview?
