Fatasy Quest! How do I get past castle guard? PLS HLP

I just figured out how to get into the black (south) castle and now i'm stuck with the big guard just inside the main hall
What do I do!!?

Also heard about float ring-which I don't have. I think it is for volcano, but how do i get it?
