Showing off your underwear has been cool for, like, eight years now. :-}
Impossible! No fad lasts for eight years. Most fads begin and end in California*. The beginning and ending slowly cross the country so that the beginnings and endings of fads are usually about two years later on the East Coast. Even with the two-year lag, fads do not last eight years. Sometimes they evolve and it makes it seem longer. For example faded jeans are long gone from cool. But did they fade away (sorry!) or just evolve into those jeans with faded spots, that look like wear, where they have been sat in a lot? And as for low-slung jeans and high-slung underwear, aren't they just an evolution from low-slung underware and high slung jeans? I believe that if anything is cool for more than two years it will begin to evolve into something else. How"never been cool"ard
*Californians often gets fads from England, but they have been known to cook up a few of their own. H
