For the most part people are ok with this, but sometimes they really jip you out of money you deserve for the pressure. I'll tell you flat out, the average rate is $35 - $40 (U.S. Dollars, of course). But if there is something special they are doing (such as tomorrow's amount of songs and a video presentation), it's just a nicety. I've been payed up to $100 before, but that was for creating the powerpoint presentation with pics and stuff.
A powerpoint presentation for a *wedding?* Seriously? Eek. And you thought having more than four songs was bad. Nothing livens up a wedding like pie charts and slide shows. ;-}

Now, see, that's what I wanted to do. Not the humming bit, mind; I wanted not to do music at my wedding, but everyone else was all "omgwtflmao! You HAVE to have music at your wedding.fool it's the LAW."
Personally, I was all for making the ceremony as short as possible so we could get right on into the fun part, where we all hang around and eat stuff and drink ginger ale and kibitz for the rest of the night. :-}
