I've never been fond of McAfee, myself. They promised "lifetime virus data updates," but they meant the lifetime of the software. They released a new version and I could no longer download the latest information files without buying the upgrade.

Instead, I now use AVG from www.grisoft.com, which is a wallet-busting $0 (that's almost $0 with Tennessee's sales tax). You have to register your information to unlock the prog, but it's still free.
