RU3 Addendum (What I Did Instead)

Having used all my money and vacation this year on purchasing and moving into a house, I was unable to attend the RinkUnion. I was, and still am bitterly disappointed about this, and the plethora of RU3 documentary posts that have been popping up lately have only served to heighten the immense sense of loss that I am currently experiencing.
Here's what I did this weekend to make up for not going:
On Friday evening, I mowed the lawn.
Saturday morning, I cleaned both of our showers. Afterwards, I went into RinkChat and lamented not being at the RU. Then I logged off. I worked on some stuff on my computer for a while, then made lunch. It occurred to me that I could paricipate "in spirit" with the RU by watching my copy of Sinbad, so I put it in, but only got to watch it for a little while. I had to turn it off just after the "HA!"
Saturday afternoon, I was supposed to be working on my web site, but instead discovered that the entire folder on my hard drive containing all the scanned artwork from my portfolio was corrupt and had to be deleted. I think I have it backed up on CD somewhere, so all is not lost, if I can find it. So I didn't work on my web site at all, but cleaned up the computer room / back bedroom and took a nap instead.
Saturday evening, we took our son out to his favorite restaurant (McDonalds) and then went shopping (Sam's Club and Kroger). At Sam's I finally got my long-awaited copy of Westwood's Red Alert 2. We didn't buy anything else there, although we looked at diapers, cheese, and soap. At Kroger's we bought the soap. (It was on sale there so it was cheaper than Sams', which is normally not the case.)
Saturday night, I wanted to install and play RA2 but instead ran scandisk on my computer after deleting that corrupt folder I mentioned earlier. It didn't find anything wrong. Afterwards I installed RA2 but by then it was after ten so I didn't play it much before going to bed.
Sunday I went to church, spent all afternoon planning a game for Labor Day weekend and playing RA2, and went to church again. I played RA2 a little bit more after we got home, and then went to bed.
Gri"RU3 sounds more fun, no?"shny
