For those of you who always thought that Abbott and Costello were stretching probability about as far as it could go with their famous "Who's on First?" routine, the following conversation actually took place between me and a friend at a band competition back in high school. Keep in mind that I am from Massachusetts, and there is a town in Massachusetts called "Ware." There is also a Ware High School, complete with band.

We're watching the show from the audience at this point; I have a program, and my friend does not. A new band is coming on stage.

My friend: What band is that?
Me (looking at program): Ware.
My friend: ... There.
Me: Ware.
My friend: On the stage.
Me: Ware.
My friend: The band. On the stage. Right there!
Me: Ware!

At this point, he, frustrated with this foolishness, rips the program out of my hands, glares at it, and cracks up. The other neat thing about this situation is that that coming spring, in the talent show, the two of us performed the "Who's on First?" routine.
