Okay, here are tips on a few things that you can do right now:

1. Did you see anything in the mines that a sledgehammer might help bust up?

2. It looks like you didn't see all of the sandstone caverns. There's another exit you need to find. Then you'll need to use another trick with the mine cart similar to how you got to the sandstone area in the first place.

3. Do you remember anyone on the station who might be knowledgeable about that dead beetle? Maybe he can tell you something (and trigger something else to happen).
