darn rat TOA

i have read through all the hints for rats but still cant catch the darn thing. i have cleared out all of the store room, i can get him under the crates but i have tried for 3 hours to catch him and i just cant seem to do it! right now i cant do anything else until i catch him and its really aggrivating...PLEASE HELP
