Yeah. Toss a coin. Then if you find yourself going "well, wait, that one wasn't fair, it hit the table" or "no, hang on, I'll do best of three", then you know what you want.
I also do the same with a die when I have more than two options. Once I get a result I'm convinced came out "fairly" (ie. the way I want) then I do that.
Someone tried to make that process easier by buying me a die with things like "homework", "eat", "bed", "go out", and so forth on the sides. It failed to work when, as you might expect, the one rule I consistently abided by was "If it comes down showing something like homework, it's been tampered with and needs to be rolled again".
