Since I posted this, I've found something for the coming weekend, so that's one more week taken care of. Thanks for all the suggestions. I will keep them in mind for next time I get stuck.

I managed to get a free one-day lift pass for a skifield so I will go there over the weekend, make a road trip out of it, and go to all sorts of new places along the way. I have only tried skiing once before, in the surroundings of a brief "learn the basics and then move slowly down a small slope" group lesson, so I'm sure to find many new experiences in this trip.
