In a word, YES. I've wanted to do that since before my twenties, and the desire certainly has not abated since I've entered my twenties; on the contrary, it's grown stronger. Here's what I'd really like to do: Drive east across the lower part of North America, get to Florida, then head north up the coast to Canada. Then I'd head east, cut back down into the United States, and continue west until I reached the Pacific Ocean again.
I recently talked to a man who took five years to cross the country in a gypsy cart. I know I couldn't handle that, but the idea itself was fascinating, and he was so intriguing. He had always wanted to travel, so after working hard for years, he set out to see the world. While the idea of abandoning my life and not having a permanent home is not on my agenda, it was still a cool story (link below).

Yes, I want to do that, too. And, since I currently do not have the freedom to suddenly take off on a weeks-long trip across the country, a short trip sounds much more feasible. My problem, though, is like Brunnen-G's dilemma. I wouldn't want to do such a trip by myself, but I can't think of any of my friends who could go with me. It doesn't help that my social life changed with the end of school and my old job, so I'm rather short in the non-Internet friends department.
Speaking of Brunnen-G, I have the solution for you: Move here and we'll go see interesting sights, join weird clubs since we'll at least know one other person, and make all the other Rinkies so jealous that they all move here, too.
