It is so sad to see people my age, and even younger, living on a single puny social security check that makes them choose between food and medicine. Also sad is the person who has the means to enjoy retirement, but they just sit down and wait to die. > > Oh, have no fear, I have no intention of following either of those paths. I will retire quite comfortably, and enjoy it, and I am already working towards that goal by paying off all my debts and denying myself certain luxuries (the ones I don't really need anyway) right now with an eye on the future gain. No, my concern wasn't about my eventual retirement, but about ever being a teacher. Not that I wouldn't like to be a teacher; I just don't think that going back to school for two more years (or more) is in the cards for me when I'm quite happy with the engineering job I have right now. :-) > > > I have so many interests, I can't keep up with them all. Yes. I know what engineers make, and I know what teachers make. Stick with engineering. Those guys pay their secretaries more than teachers make. I know because my wife was one of the secretaries.
Actually, the trip to Hooters was requested by my grandson as a 14th birthday outing. The group consisted of my wife and I, her mother who is 86, and my grandson's parents. There we were in that loud and roudy setting, four generations celebrating a birthday. The food was good, and a great time was had by all. I think I may request another visit when *my* birthday rolls around. Howard
