Oddly enough on the very day that I was born, John Lennon drew up and signed the final version of his will. (see link below).

As for musical references:

No. 1 in the UK was "One Day at a Time", by Lena Martell.

No. 1 in the US was (gulp!) "Heartache Tonight" by The Eagles.

If I had been born but one week later I would have coincided with the release of Frank Zappa's Joe's Garage albums II & III.
