June SAT scores? posted by Liface on Sunday, June 23, 2002, at 20:09:04:
Congratulations!
I just got my SAT scores back too (actually this was a few weeks ago, I think I took the test in late April). This was the second time I took the test. I got a 1310 -- a significant improvement from the first time I took the test. I was hoping for something higher, but I'm a perfectionist like that. I think I'm done taking that test though, because my score just *barely* qualifies for the Bright Futures scholarship. That's a scholarship given by the Florida Lottery that pays for 100% of college tuition for four years at a Florida university. You also have to have 75 hours of community service and some other stuff. Luckily I've got those, too, so my college life just got a lot cheaper and easier. I'm happy. :-)
Keep taking the SAT! I've heard that everyone's scores go up the more they take it (as yours has already). I'd keep retesting too, but now that I've got the scholarship I really don't see the point. Hopefully there's something like that available for you where you live, too, because it's a great opportunity to save a whole bunch of money. Odds are, similar scholarships require about the same SAT score as Bright Futures, and if that's so, you're really close. Just about 50 points more and you'd have it... that's like two more correct answers! Go for it! :-P
