This post floated into my head a few minutes ago, and I thought about it and realized something: you may think it's wrong to kill people, but I don't think that would make it wrong for you to write a story where a character killed someone.
This thread has also had people warning against unneccessary swearing as "filler" or to try to make the story "more realistic". I would agree with this, as it's usually very obnoxious, but also keep in mind that there are certain occasions where excessive unneccessary profanity can add to characterization a bit, although, if it's a character who shows up repeatedly, you certainly do run the risk of making the story annoying to read.
