Hmm... so if there were an option to turn off these things individually, you would have the gore on and the other things off?

I never got 3D, but I have 1 and 2. There, anything you kill leaves no remains. There's usually a brief explosion after which the particles disappear into the air, or all the parts, none bloody, go offscreen. Nothing sustains burn marks, cuts, puncture wounds, or even bruises. Even Duke himself, when he dies, explodes into these ball-shaped thingies. Weird, but no complaints from this quarter. As far as language goes, DNII has one word that would probably be considered mild today, that appears when you place one of the Hint Spheres.
