That generally seems to happen to me only when I'm first falling asleep. Once I'm in a deep sleep, it takes much more than that to wake me up.

For example, the other night my wife had a nightmare in which someone was kidnapping our son. She was yelling "NO!" in her dream and yelled it out loud in her sleep, waking herself up. She says I rolled over and exclaimed "What's wrong, what's wrong?"

I have no memory of this.
