I mean, what is your church's explanation for what is happening to the person that would make these physical things happen? Is it the spirt entering him? Is it the devil leaving him? Also, I'm especially curious to know if you ever saw Elvis again and if so, what his situation was then. > > Mousie, The Cat Curiosity was Gunning For
Just got home from a very busy weekend. Sorry for the delayed answer. :-)
The general idea is that it is the movement of the Holy Spirit in/over/through the individual. A lot of people describe the experience as overwhelming, but in a good way. One thing I missed in my original account of the time was that Elvis said afterwards that he felt peaceful and enlightened -- I know enlightened was one exact word he used, which was really weird coming from him.
As for seeing him again, I unfortunately have not. That is one of the downsides to the ministry to the homeless, especially when we go away from the Drop-In Centre -- we often don't get to encounter the same people again. There was one man that I met that night who I saw again later, but there was no fascinating spiritual story to tell about him.
Hope that answers your question.
