The church I'm a member of now basically is always ready to have a baptismal service. If someone comes and wants to be baptized that night, then it'll happen. However, more often than not, people come forward for baptism and set a later date for it happen. Frequently, there will be several candidates lined up to be baptized during the same service, but usually no more than three or four.

When I was in college, I went to an on-campus church that had over 3,000 attendees when school was in session. They only had baptismal services two or three times a year, and they'd often have upward of ten or more candidates that would come in one at a time (there was only one pastor who did all the baptisms.) Is that what he meant by "mass baptism" I wonder?
