goa - lost horse?

Hi again, I finally got my crate and hammer (thanks for the hint). Now I've lost Sea Nymph! I went across the desert. Got Rink, went to the outpost. I wasn't having luck at the outpost so I returned to the cave & went to see the sage. When I returned, my horse was gone (Rink stayed though). Now I can't get back across the desert! Where is my horse? I looked in the stable thinking that she might have gone home, but she wasn't there! Ahhh. Has this EVER happened to anyone else? ANY help you can give me is most welcome and appreciated. I am a little bit freaking out. Thanks.
