> May 16 - Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
It's a Star Wars movie, of course I'll be seeing it. I should probably add something like "After The Phantom Menace, I'm feeling cautiously optimistic", but as a matter of fact I quite liked The Phantom Menace.
> May 24 - Insomnia
I like the sound of the movie (especially the bit about Robin Williams not playing a saccharine allegedly-comic role), but I probably won't see it. It's just not my kind of thing.
> May 24 - Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron
Pro: It's a DreamWorks film.
Con: It's called "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron". It's very hard to take a film seriously with a title like that.
I think I'll wait for more information.
> May 31 - The Sum of All Fears
I'm not sure what to think about this one. Ben Affleck as Jack Ryan? And last I heard, all kinds of strange things were happening to the plot...
But I'll wait and see, and I'll probably end up watching it anyway.
> June 7 - Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood
Not my kind of thing at all.
> June 14 - Scooby-Doo
I'm really very disturbed by this movie. It's a live-action version of a cartoon, which is generally a bad sign. And some of the casting is off-putting.
And the promotions I've seen emphasing the new, cliche-breaking things the film will do with the Scooby-Doo concept have no effect on me, because *I* know (although the makers of the film apparently don't) that all the new, cliche-breaking things that can be done with the Scooby-Doo concept (the ones worth doing, anyway) have in fact been done already. Which doesn't leave this new film with much to justify its existence.
Definitely giving this one a miss.
> June 14 - Windtalkers
Haven't heard anything about this one.
> June 14 - The Bourne Identity
I'm cautiously optimistic about this one. I quite liked the book, whatever that means when it comes to a film adaptation. I'd never have picked Matt Damon as Bourne, though.
> June 18 - Air Bud 4: Seventh Inning Fetch > > Bet you didn't even know there was an Air Bud 3.
They say ignorance is bliss, and just this once I'm willing to believe them.
> June 21 - Lilo & Stitch
Never heard of it.
> June 21 - Minority Report > > Steven Spielberg directs Tom Cruise in a movie based on a Philip K. Dick novel.
The director of "AI" and "Hook", the star of "Interview with the Vampire" and "Far and Away", and the guy who wrote the story that inspired "Total Recall"... well, we'll see. ;o)
> June 28 - Mr. Deeds
Run away! Run away!
> July 3 - Men In Black 2
Men in Black was okay, but it just wouldn't be the same without Tommy Lee Jones. Which, I expect, means they're going to bring him back, which, given how thoroughly he was written out at the end of the last movie, is a move guaranteed to earn my complete indifference.
All in all, I think I'd better steer clear.
> July 12 - Crocodile Hunter: The Collision Course
I'll be avoiding the movie, but that trailer sounds like fun...
> July 12 - Reign of Fire
This is the one set in the mountains of [some famously flat part of England that I can't recall the name of at the moment], right? I'll pass.
> July 12 - Road To Perdition
Never heard of it.
> July 19 - Stuart Little 2 > > Gah.
You said it.
> July 19 - Halloween: Resurrection
Not being a creative person, I'm running out of ways to say that I'm never going to see this movie.
> July 19 - Eight Legged Freaks
*yawn*
> July 26 - Austin Powers in Goldmember
The only reason this interests me at all is that any mention of Austin Powers reminds me of the time one of our local stations had an Austin Powers movie marathon, both movies one after the other - _Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me_ followed by _Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery_...
> August 2 - Signs
M. Night Shyamalan, yay.
I'll give it a look.
> August 2 - XXX
I take back what I said about _Eight Legged Freaks_ - I need that yawn to express how I feel about *this* movie.
> August 7 - Spy Kids 2: The Island of the Lost Dreams
I probably won't go see this, because I haven't seen the original _Spy Kids_ yet.
> August 14 - Blood Work
I haven't heard of this one.
> August 16 - The Adventures of Pluto Nash
And I haven't heard of this one, but the involvement of Eddie Murphy is a bad sign.
> August 16 - The Tuxedo
I suppose it's about time I watched a Jackie Chan movie...
> August 16 - Simone
Sounds interesting, but I'm not, like, really excited or anything.
The Truman Show was a great movie, though.
