Am I excited about it? Yes. Is it the movie I am most excited about? No. I'm looking forward to seeing it, but not terribly excited about it. And I'm sure my disappointment with TPM has something to do with that.
> May 24 - Insomnia
Can't wait to see this. I love Pacino (especially after watching all three Godfather movies for the first time just a couple of weeks ago) and I love Williams in dramatic roles. That, coupled with the fact that I love this type of film, makes me really excited to see this.
> > May 24 - Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron
I can't get excited about this one and the title has a lot to do with it. Why add "Stallion of the Cimarron"?? Just call the movie "Spirit". Maybe dumb titles bother me more than they should, but I doubt I would have seen a movie called "Shrek: Ogre of the Magical Forest".
> May 31 - The Sum of All Fears
This is the movie I'm most excited about. I'm a fan of Ben Affleck, despite Mallrats; and I really liked Red October, Patriot Games, and Clear & Present Danger. The more I see the trailer, the more excited about this movie I get.
> June 7 - Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood
This will be my payback movie. And by that I mean it will be the movie I have to take Karen to see as payback for dragging her along to Episode 2 and Spiderman.
> June 14 - Scooby-Doo
A movie based on a cartoon? Never work. ;)
> June 14 - Windtalkers
I can't get past Woo directing this. Looks good, but after Mission Impossible 2 all Woo movies have dropped to rental level for me.
> > June 14 - The Bourne Identity
I'm excited about this one too. I haven't seen all of Matt Damon's movies, but I thought he was excellent in the one's I have seen (Good Will Hunting, Dogma, and Rounders). I love the premise of this movie and be seeing it soon after it opens.
> June 18 - Air Bud 4: Seventh Inning Fetch
Ugh. No way.
> June 21 - Lilo & Stitch
Can't say I'm really excited about this movie, but I'll be taking the kids to see it. That's a given.
> June 21 - Minority Report
This one I will have to read a lot of reviews on before deciding to see it in the theater or just rent it. I did like this movie the first time it was released and was called Timecop. (j/k) > > June 28 - Mr. Deeds
Could care less about this one.
> July 3 - Men In Black 2
Yeah, I'm looking forward to this one too.
> July 12 - Crocodile Hunter: The Collision Course
This one scares me.
> July 12 - Reign of Fire
Everyone please go buy a copy of U-571 so Matthew McConaughey can start making good films again.
> July 12 - Road To Perdition
Hanks. Newman. 'nuff said.
> July 19 - Stuart Little 2
Again....I'm sure I will be taking the kids to see this one.
> July 19 - Halloween: Resurrection
So if Michael Myers didn't die in H20, why title this movie "Resurrection"? I for one will not be spending any money to find out.
> > July 19 - Eight Legged Freaks
Might be a fun 90 minute diversion.
> July 26 - Austin Powers in Goldmember
I liked the first two movies, so I will be seeing this for sure.
> > August 2 - Signs
I'm pumped for this one too. Almost as much as The Sum of all Fears.
> August 2 - XXX
Haven't heard anything about this one.
> August 7 - Spy Kids 2: The Island of the Lost Dreams
Loved the first one. Definitely planning on seeing this one.
> > August 14 - Blood Work
Eastwood and Helgeland? I'm there.
> August 16 - The Adventures of Pluto Nash
Haven't heard of this one at all.
> August 16 - The Tuxedo > > Jackie Chan? I'm there. Ditto. > > August 16 - Simone
This looks like it'll be a good movie.
All in all, looks like a decent summer for movies. I'm looking forward to The Sum of all Fears more than anything. I hope Affleck can pull off the role of Jack Ryan.
One movie that I am really excited about, but won't be relased for a year or two, is Jersey Girl. I've had a lot of time to watch movies lately and have become a big fan of Kevin Smith's films.
