> And as long as I'm on THAT subject, let me add that you have insane amounts of different brands and flavors and textures for things. I mean, if you want to get peanut butter around here, you get peanut butter. Stores mostly have one brand only. But in the US, you have dozens of brands and normal, creamy, chunky, chocolate, natural etc. etc.
In the interests of international research, my supermarket has (from memory) two brands of peanut butter besides their house brand. These are Sanitarium and ETA. I can't think of any brands of peanut butter apart from those.
All of these brands come in smooth, crunchy, extra crunchy, or no-added-salt. I think one of them has a new style called Roasted, or something like that. The ingredients of all brands are the same: peanuts, emulsifier and salt (or no salt, as the case may be), so I can't discern any difference between brands.
Oh yeah, there's another brand, whose name I can't think of, which is American-style peanut butter. It has sugar in it and is quite sweet-tasting. This particular supermarket imports quite a few American brands which you don't see anywhere else in the country, like Oreos and Reese's.
