no, No, NO! You can NOT spread jelly onto a slice of bread that already has peanut butter on it. It DOES NOT WORK. It makes the peanut butter move around and "glump up" after you've put all that work into spreading it carefully into a nice, even plane.
When making a PB&J sandwich, you have to spread the peanut butter on first, then wipe off the knife so that you don't get PB in the jelly, and then you stir up the jelly in the jar with the knife so it's nice and gloppy for spreading instead of all gelled together, and then you pour/scrape the jelly out of the jar onto a CLEAN slice of bread with the knife and spread it. Then you put the peanut butter slice on top of the jelly slice.
It doesn't matter which way you eat it.
