As usual, I didn't do very well, but failure builds character.

Dale Jarrett won in a walk. His straighaway speed was fantastic. He could have made that car jump through a hoop. As expected, Mark Martin, Jeff Gordon and Bobby LaBonte ran great. Greatness in this case was keeping Jarrett in sight. Andretti crashed as did Chad Little. Bodine put Little into the wall. DW, and Dave Marcus blew up and Ken Shrader is now the only driver to have completed every lap in all six Brickyard 400's. You can't take that to the bank, but it's a nice little statistic. Ricky Rudd ran well, but wasn't a threat to win. Awesome Bill was awesome at times.

It looks like Jarrett has a good shot at the title, which would be good. The Jarretts are a great role model for what a family should be and I think another title would be good for them and for racing.

Next time duty calls on race day, set the VCR like I do. Then you can zap the commercials and have twice the fun in half the time. Just don't read the paper before you watch.
