Why would anyone cook the noodles together with the sauce? *That* would be weird, unless you're warming up old spaghetti.
There is nothing I eat more frequently than pasta (excepting pure bread, which doesn't really count as a meal). I have a noodle quirk of my own: I appear to like them a bit harder than most people. I think the reason is that I'm somewhat paranoid about cooking them for too long; if there's one thing I consider impossible to eat, it's soft noodles. I'd rather eat the plate or the fork than them.

Matter of perspective. One of my sister's previous boyfriends used to eat the following things on one sandwich: butter, sausage, cheese, strawberry yoghurt, honey, strawberry jam.
