Benellis were very popular, here, in the 70s. Now - if I remember correctly - Benelli was incorporated into Aprilia (one of the leaders in the Superbike championship) and lost a bit of its popularity.

Other interesting brands that also have a great number of fans overseas are Guzzi (its first factory, on the shore of the lake of Como, was founded in 1924; the first model was a 275cc that reached the 'impressive' speed of 80km/h) and Ducati.
