Rubbish. I can think of at least two operas with different plots without even trying. Since you probably don't want me showing off by listing lots of opera titles, I'll summarize: The OAS doesn't take into account 'light opera', which is full of Humorous Misunderstandings and ends with everybody having a party.
And now, a couple of other opera summaries from famous humorists whose names I've conveniently forgotten (but possibly Ambrose Bierce and Will Rogers):
"Opera - a dramatic form in which anything too ludicrous to be spoken is sung."
"Opera is where a guy gets stabbed in the back, and instead of bleeding, he sings."
