On Friday night, Dixie told me that she was coming down to London the following morning, so her sister could try and see the Queen Mother's coffin lying in state. And did I want to meet her at the train station?
So I did. Her train was late, which wasn't too much of a suprise, but we met, and went to a pub for breakfast.
Then we wandered down to Westminster Hall to see the coffin, only to find that there was a 6 hour (yes, 6 hour) queue. So we decided that that was a little bit too long.
Then we went up to Clarence House (The Queen Mother's home), and left some flowers. We commented on the irony that people had trampled all the daffodils as they left their flowers.
We wandered along the Mall to Buckingham Palace, andtook photos. Then I needed to go home.
Any Dixie never once said "yay".
