Well, well, well.
After reading all the other posts in this thread, it appears that there is a bit of a conspiracy underfoot. Does no one attend high school proms? Is it merely a government-sponsored facade to make those of us who don't go (i.e., everybody) feel like we missed something important? I find it odd that no one here has been or even cares. My parents tell me that they went, but then again, we have no witnesses and they're probably getting a hefty paycheck from Uncle Sam for feeding me these lies. High school life is cruel that way.
On the other hand, high school had some very cool moments. I had some awesome friends and I was not socially deprived or anything. Yeah, it was wicked fun. Unfortunately, I only went for a year and a half, and I kind of missed the prom. What a coincedence. It's like it didn't even happen until the day *after* I left. Or something like that. The pieces all seem to fit together somehow...
Now I've got a girlfriend who is in high school. The plan is that I'm going to go to the prom with her this year, but now I have the sneaky, pungent feeling that it won't really happen. It can't, can it? Perhaps this is one of life's most perplexing paradoxes. But, on the off chance that I *will* go, I'm looking forward to it extremely much. Especially because my parents and grandparents are paying for everything. That helps a lot.
