Level four shouldn't get you killed. If you're going through the chambers in order, and you find yourself nearly killed, go back through them in order (they will now be clear of monsters) and have a nap at the nearest Inn.

Yes, there is a RESURRECT spell. It's mentioned in the documentation, actually. Good luck getting one if you're still fighting your way through the fourth level. It's obviously higher level than any healing spell, since it cures death. When you get a healing spell that looks pretty nifty, RESURRECT is on the way.
