Yeah, they did. And it was bizarre, seeing a feature-length picture based on a story that short. It gets into much more detail about the world Vonnegut sets his story in, and, to my thinking, got a bit too "kooky" with it. It was clearly inspired by this setting, rather than by the actual story; not one single event from the story actually happens in this film.

And, just for the record, each of the three posts in this subthread was posted long after what it is in reply to. We've averaged one post a year. :-}
