Most of the people that knew of MR by the "Project X" working name were also part of the beta test, or were at least invited to it. (Nobody was actually *told* about it; you just had to come into RinkChat on your own and notice the private room.) The topic of the beta test room began "Project X Beta Test."

For those others that knew about "Project X" and don't know that this is it, the information is available in the "Making of Murkon's Refuge" featurette (the "Behind the Scenes" link on the MR page).
