I dunno. Lapse of decency, maybe? Desire to just tell it like it is and the heck with it? Such things are not unheard of. ;-)
More seriously, what I remember thinking after reading BG's rant is something like this: "Wow, that's going to make a lot of people feel pretty worthless, and undeservedly so. Does BG realize what a wounding remark she's made? Probably not; she's really just venting some steam and she's doing it with comic overstatement in the grand RinkWorks tradition. But for crying out loud, that still doesn't make it right. Take away the comedy and this is a lousy thing to say to someone else. So how best to illustrate that?"
Going overboard with a rant is something I've done, too. It's not like Iss is all noble and BG is a witch or anything. As Sam pointed out, she's held her tongue for a long time and tried to bring about change constructively, which is more than I can say. So I don't want to get up in anyone's face or say anything more than "if you think about it, that rant was much uglier than it needed to be....right?" Right.
