No one has yet emailed me to tell me to SHOT UP AN DGO AWAY, so I guess the standards are the following:

1) Make an effort.

Even then, it's been pretty lax. We aren't evil people who desire to crush the hopes of newbies, except for Dave, and even he'll accept you if you're an attractive female around the age of 19.
