Idiot Spam
Faux Pas, on host 138.89.120.250

About three or four times a week, I get e-mail from different people that contains a line like this:
"I visited WWW.THESNAKEFARM.COM, and noticed that you're not listed on some search engines! I think we can offer you a service which can help you increase traffic and the number of visitors to your website."
So that means that even though they couldn't find my site, they found my site. Not only that, but they came across a mailto:cartoonlad@thesnakefarm.com link on my site.
If I get three spambots sending me mail to increase the number of visitors to my site, that's three visitors too many. I don't want any more.
Microsoft Small Business Solutions called me up one day and gave me the exact same pitch. "I was looking over some of the major search engines and thesnakefarm.com didn't seem to come up." I should have asked him what terms he was using. "Snake" and "Farm"? Or perhaps he's just going through the InterNIC Whois database and reading from a script.
