Well, yeah, most of the time. It has to do with body shape. As you get older, your largest diameter sometimes becomes the belt area. So with a belt, you do a lot of tugging to keep things from creeping south. Suspenders solve the problem and are much more comfortable.

In my case, I am a thin person with a 40 inch waist. Seriously. I have a thin face, skinny limbs, narrow sholders and a gross belly. I've been cutting back for weeks now, but no progress yet. I haven't had hips in years.

I have no idea why TV comentator Larry King wears suspenders. He is lean and trim. I suppose it just gives him a trademark.
