I suppose it could be considered cool in an 733t h4XX0r lookwhatIdidlololol11lolo!!!l1! stick-it-to-MicroSoft/Bill Gates/the System sort of way.

But since it probably causes all manner of problems like higher software prices, and tighter Big-Brother type controls (like having to re-register with MicroSoft every time you significantly upgrade your computer) for those of us who choose to be legal and actually pay for stuff, I'd say, no, it's not very cool.
