That pretty much sums up my MUDing experience... I could never understand how all those super powerful people became that way without dying of boredom. The reason I like Diablo is that it has action. Real action, not MUD action, which consists of reading the lengthy description of a section of plains and then pressing either N, S, E or W until you need to type "kill monster" and "get gold."
I've heard about MUSHes and other things that are supposedly less combat and experience oriented and revolve around some kind of storyline, but I don't have the willpower to try one after my bad encounters with MUDs.
