.mil is the top level domain reserved for the various branches of the US military. And if you are tempted to complain about the US military getting its own TLD, please kindly remember we invented the internet in the first place, so we got to decide on the original TLDs.

And if you think it's pretentious for the US military to put up a page called "Defend America" when, in fact, their very reason for existence is to do just that, then kindly go to hell and don't come back. Ever.
