Probably it's fine. The one exception is if the original problem is something that is likely to recur or not. Then you have a situation where the problem must be specifically addressed and resolved rather than just being forgotten.

Even so, you can't work something out with someone who is unwilling to do so, and if it *is* a recurring problem, that means next time is another opportunity to try. So if the whole thing is over, or at least over for now, you're probably fine following your friend's lead and just putting it all behind you.

Glad things worked out.
