I could be wrong but I didn't see where anyone was being forced to get married.=0)
I am sure that there will be those who marry on the grounds of the extra income. We must look at the package from all sides however. The welfare system is being reformed to wean people off of it's assistance by directing them back into the work force. Which is wonderful! Years ago it only seemed to encourage unemployment. This newly married family will someday be able and expected to stand on it's own.

I hope that this plan will help end the divorces that happen amoung the VERY poor who simply are not eligible for some forms of assistance merely because they are married. How do you begin to pick between your wife being able to see a doctor whe she needs to and your marriage? In most states, if not all, only minors, pregnant women and single mothers are entitled to free medical programs. Yes I know most of these families remain together under one roof, but it is ILLEGAL for them to do so. HOW SAD!!! I think it's about time the poor married familes got this break...if that's indeed what it is.
