We were shut down completely before the game started. Lots of folks were logged on to places to exchange messages and e-mails (I, for one, posted the second of the only two "Woohoo"'s I'm ever likely to post - one for the women's game, one for the men's). Essentially, though, we started screaming about the time of the 4-2 goal. What a game.
Canadians are weird about hockey. We hate it a lot of the time - most of the time, if commentators would be believed. The Olympics brings the best of the game out - more clean play, less hooliganism (is that a word?), more skating, more teamwork, less grandstanding. The NHL has a lot to learn from them.
It was nice to have the gold - it was better to see such a great game. And the fact that the ice making workers buried a Loonie at centre ice was probably just a coincidence, not voodoo luck. ;-)
