NBC's olympic coverage was better this year than the last Summer Olympics' coverage, but still it was odd. They'd have some live events and several tape-delayed events from earlier in the day air during primetime. Every so often they'd have these spot ads at the bottom of the screen directing you to their website to find out more about the sport you're watching. A good idea in theory. Most of the sports coverage you're seeing on NBC has been tape-delayed so when you visit the website to find out more about the tape-delayed sport you're watching, the first thing you see is who won a few hours earlier.

Of course, this made it easier to switch from NBC to CNBC, where they were airing live ice hockey.
